The story
How to hang it
Safety in the nursery
To keep the lamp glowing safely for years:
- The cord with plug and on/off switch carries the CE mark.
- Hang the lamp out of your child’s reach, so not directly above or next to the cot or playpen.
- Run the cord along the wall, out of reach of little hands. A few cable clips keep it neatly in place.
- Make sure the cord never gets pinched, for example behind a cupboard, under furniture or in a door.
- Don’t let young children switch the lamp on and off without supervision.
- Use a bulb with a small E14 fitting of max. 30 watts. The open sides keep the lamp cool.
- Unplug the lamp before changing the bulb.
- For indoor use in dry rooms only.

Dreamt up by Hylkia de Jong
Since 2015, Hylkia has been painting hidden worlds for the nursery. Every design begins as a little story and a watercolour at her drawing table, and then takes shape in the Netherlands.
Her wish: that children and their parents fall in love with their own world of imagination all over again.
